The Ascend Futures Foundation recently made a significant contribution to environmental sustainability in Zambia by hosting a tree-planting activity at Kapwelyomba Basic School. Over 225 enthusiastic students participated in the event, planting a total of 45 trees.
Beyond the environmental benefits, these trees will also provide a valuable source of nutrition for the school’s students. The Ascend Futures Foundation team took the opportunity to educate the students about climate change and its impacts, fostering a deeper understanding of the importance of environmental conservation.
The school management expressed their gratitude for the initiative, noting that the tree-planting activity would revitalize their orchard and ensure that students have access to healthy snacks. In addition, the foundation launched the “Youth for Climate Action” club, empowering 29 students to become champions of environmental awareness in Zambia.
The Ascend Futures Foundation is seeking donations of school supplies to further incentivize the young change-makers involved in the “Youth for Climate Action” club.
